Contra-flow Bus Lane
Teideal:
objection to contraflow bus lane anglesea street cork city

To whom it may concern

My family have lived in Anglesea terrace Cork city since 1938 and I live in the same house today with my family of 4 kids

the changes I have seen to this what was once a lovely terrace full of families is stark and drastic

we have now a vincent de paul hostel and a simon house in the terrace which brings a fair share of unsettling behaviour and drug use and generally using our terrace as a toilet .

the introduction of a contraflow bus lane would finally put our terrace on its death march

1. blocking off the main route to the entrance of the terrace when you remove the right turn lane from copley st

2. narrow anglesea st with bus lanes

3. the removal of the parking on anglesea st will also cause anglesea terrace to be full to the brim of car parking as the city hall use our terrace as their own personal private car park without buying a parking disc ever

st johns college night time course user park here at night as do the music college as well

the residents of anglesea terrace cannot park their cars outside their homes even at night time.

I strongly object to this proposal reasons as follows

1. waste of money

2. cause obstruction to fire brigade main station and main garda station

3. yet another traffic jam on anglesea street and south terrace

4. no consultation with residents in the local area beforehand

5. cause accidents by cars buses and bikes etc

6. yet another huge disruption to our once peaceful terrace

finally my suggestion to whomever is in charge of  roads etc in Cork city is fix the traffic lights going northside to create flow through the city at major traffic times and stop all the bottlenecks first on the roads and not create a new one which this proposal will surely do .
