Tuairim

Cork, my city, my life
Caibidil:
Volume 1 - Written Statement » 4. Transport and Mobility
Ábhair:
Pedestrians
Public Transport

Dog park in Ballincollig, more dog poo bins, safer street at night especially those paedestrianised, more lighting, more street patrols, more access for buggies and wheelchairs. More housing of course and more parks, creches and facilites for all ages'

Car parks to be underground or high rise, less surface parking. Free park and ride, more room for buggies on public transport, cars are not the enemy and are a necessity for people with mobility issues.

Absolute no to the city walls - i am wholly aligned with the Save Cork City campaign, whose submission I fully endorse.

Cork to be a Breastfeeding Friendly City.

Cork City Hall to be used as a cultural hub, with its role as the premier auditorium in the country to be prioritised - an artist advsory board to be set up to operate it, representing the musical and cultural interests of the city.

Th Mayor to be directly elected and to lose the "Lord" title, which is no part of our modern democratic system.

People's assembly to be set up - similar to the one for the Consititution, so the views of Cork people can be heard and acted upon.
