NOTICE UNDER SECTION 38 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1994 (AS AMENDED)
Road Safety Improvement Scheme at R847 Prospect Row at the junction of N22 Sheare’s Street/Dyke Parade/Woods Street
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994 (as amended)Cork City Council hereby gives notice of its intention to carry out road safety improvement works at R847 Prospect Row at the junction of N22 Sheare’s Street/Dyke Parade/Woods Street including;
changes to junction layout to improve intervisibility between motorists and pedestrians;
provision of traffic calming at the junction in the form of a raised table at the controlled crossing;
ancillary improvements to footpaths and pedestrian crossings;
all associated ancillary site works such as modifications and improvement to road markings and signs, drainage, and public lighting.
Plans and particulars of the proposed works will be available for public inspection from Friday 16th January 2026 until Monday 16th February 2026:
at the public reception desk of Cork City Council’s offices at City Hall, Anglesea Street, Cork T12 T997, between the hours of 10:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays.
Submissions and observations with respect to the proposed works may be made;
in writing to “Senior Executive Engineer, Traffic Regulation & Safety, Room 339, City Hall, Anglesea Street, Cork, T12 T997
The deadline for receipt of submissions and observations is 5:00 pm on Monday 16th February 2026.
All comments, including names and addresses of those making submissions and observations, submitted to Cork City Council regarding this scheme, will form part of the statutorily required report to be presented at the monthly meeting of Cork City Council. Accordingly, they will be included in the minutes of that meeting and may appear in the public domain. Cork City Council will retain data for no longer than is necessary and in accordance with the Council’s Retention Policy and relevant Data Protection legislation.
