Reverse the proposed Education rezoning back to Residential
Tuairim
I act for the landowner, Estate of Late Merle Tanner.
The lands identified at appendix 1 in folio CK19183 at Ballincollig are owned by The Estate of the Late Merle Tanner.
The lands were zoned Residential in the 2017 Cork County Local Area Plan for Ballincollig & Carrigaline.
The lands are now proposed for rezoning to ZO 13 Education in the Draft Cork City Development Plan 2022 – 2028.
The Late Mere Tanner was in advanced negotiations with developer O’Callaghan Properties to sell the property to for a residential development, but her untimely death delayed the process.
The beneficiary of her Estate, Shane Tanner son of the deceased, wishes carry out his mother’s wishes and sell the land to O’Callaghan Properties. The proposed zoning prevents this plan being executed and delivering mush needed housing in the Ballincollig area.
The Late Merle Tanner sold land to O’Callaghan Properties in 2003 for the adjoining residential development Lisheen Woods.
The land is perfectly located to meet the key strategic issues and recommendations as outlined the Chief Executives’ Report on pre-Draft Consultation. I urge you rezone this holding as Residential.
