NOTICE UNDER SECTION 38 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1994 (AS AMENDED)

Proposed Changes to York Hill Traffic Flow

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994 (as amended) Cork City Council hereby gives notice of its intention to carry out works to introduce filtered permeability on York Hill and remove through vehicular access between Wellington Road and Summerhill North. Vehicular access will be maintained to residential properties on York Terrace accessed via Summerhill North. Two-way pedestrian and cycle, through access, between Wellington Road and Summerhill North will be retained on York Hill. The restriction on the right turn movement from York Hill to Summerhill North will be removed. 

Plans and particulars of the proposed changes will be available for public inspection from Friday 7th of March 2025 until Tuesday 8th of April 2025:

  • electronically via Cork City Council’s Online Consultation Portal at https://consult.corkcity.ie
  • at the public reception desk of Cork City Council’s offices at City Hall, Anglesea Street, Cork T12 T997, between the hours of 10:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays.

Submissions and observations with respect to the proposed changes may be made;

  • electronically via Cork City Council’s Online Consultation Portal at https://consult.corkcity.ie
  • in writing to Traffic Regulation & Safety, Room 339, City Hall, Anglesea Street, Cork, T12 T997

The deadline for receipt of submissions and observations is 5:00 pm on Tuesday 8th April 2025.

All comments, including names of those making submissions and observations, submitted to Cork City Council in regard to this proposal, will form part of the report to be presented at the Local Area Committee meeting of Cork City Council. Accordingly, they will be included in the minutes of that meeting and may appear in the public domain. Cork City Council will retain data for no longer than is necessary and in accordance with the Council’s Retention Policy and relevant Data Protection legislation.
