Public Consultation on Draft Tree Strategy

 

Cork City Council has prepared a Draft Tree Strategy and welcomes your submission in relation to the strategy document.

Overview of Strategy Contents

The Draft Tree Strategy provides baseline data related to existing trees in the city, and it sets out 13 internal policies and 33 actions that Cork City Council intends to carry out over the next five years relating to public tree management, retaining existing trees, and planting new trees. The strategy recognises the importance of collaboration and working together as a community to  plant, care for, and manage trees in our city.

  • Deadline: The last day for submissions is Friday, 16th February 2024.   
  • View the Document: The Draft Strategy is available in .pdf or in flipbook format below.  A printed version can be viewed at Cork City Council, Anglesea Street (at the Planning Counter from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday – Friday) or at the City Library on Grand Parade (during regular library hours).
  • Please be advised that all submissions received will be published online. Any submissions received by post will be scanned and uploaded on-line. Given this, please do not include personal details on your submission.  Include only your name and general location. (A “general location,” for example, may be Douglas Street, Blarney, or White’s Cross). If you wish to include any other contact details, put them on a separate sheet of paper attached to your submission.

Next Steps

Cork City Council will review all submissions and revise the Draft Tree Strategy as appropriate. The Tree Strategy will then be submitted to the Elected Members (full Council) for consideration, likely in April 2024.
