LORD MAYOR’S COMMUNITY & VOLUNTARY AWARDS 2024

Closed12 Feb, 2024, 1:00pm - 18 Mar, 2024, 5:00pm

Lord Mayor's Message

This year coincides with the 21st edition of the Lord Mayor’s Community Voluntary Awards. Once again, we celebrate the rich voluntary effort, dedication, and 'building communities' ethos in our city. More than 600 organisations are engaged in the community and voluntary sector. In essence, they form the heart of Cork society and in a sense its caring DNA of togetherness and solidarity.

This year, awards are made in six different categories. Such categories aim to celebrate the wide-ranging activities in our communities and also serve to connect to Cork City Council's community programme and collaboration supports and vision for community life within our city.

3 organisations are shortlisted in each category with one being selected as deserving of special recognition. In addition to the award, a donation of €500 is awarded to assist the organisation in furthering its aims. The overall winner is presented with the perpetual trophy, an award of €1000, and a bursary worth €2000 from our principal sponsor The Echo/ Echolive.ie

The closing date for nominations is Friday 15th March 2024.

Cllr. Kieran McCarthy, Lord Mayor
