NOTICE UNDER SECTION 38 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1994 (AS AMENDED)
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994 (as amended) Cork City Council hereby gives notice of its intention to carry out works to improve bus stop facilities and alter road and footpath layouts at the following four locations:
R849 Glasheen Road at westbound Bus Stop No. 243101 in the vicinity of “Flannery’s of Glasheen” and in the townland of Clashduff.
Relocation of bus stop further to the west, provision of a built-out bus boarding area, and modification to the layout of the existing parking bay.
R849 Glasheen Road at eastbound Bus Stop No. 242691 in the vicinity of Lisieux Park and Tara Lawn and in the townland of Huggartsland.
Provision of a Pelican type pedestrian crossing (i.e. with traffic lights and push buttons), provision of a built out bus boarding area and footpath, modification to the layout of existing parking bay, and replacement of the existing bus shelter, and modifications to footpaths at the junction at Tara Lawn.
L2471 Clarke’s Hill at southbound Bus Stop No. 255041 in the vicinity of Monfield estate and in the townland of Monfieldstown.
Removal of the existing lay-by, reconstruction of the bus stop as an “inline” bus stop, and provision of a bus shelter.
L2471 Clarke’s Hill at northbound Bus Stop No. 247111 in the vicinity of Clarke’s Wood/Mount Oval and in the townland of Mounthovel.
Provision of a hardstanding at the bus stop, footpath link to the Clarke’s Wood/Mounthovel estate, and an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing (dropped kerb only).
Other associated ancillary alterations and improvement works may also be made at the above locations, such as: replacement and additional road markings and road traffic signage, road drainage, public lighting, landscaping etc.
Plans and particulars of the proposed works will be available for public inspection from Thursday 6th of June 2024 until Monday 8th July 2024:
at the public reception desk of Cork City Council’s offices at City Hall, Anglesea Street, Cork T12 T997, between the hours of 9:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays.
