Road Safety Improvement Works at Brooklodge Grove, Glanmire

Notice Under Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994, Cork City Council hereby gives notice of its intention to carry out traffic management measures in the interest of the safety and convenience of road users at Brooklodge Grove, Glanmire.

Cork City Council proposes to carry out various measures to improve pedestrian and cycling infrastructure and facilities along Brooklodge Grove (L3010). The main features of the proposed scheme are:-

  • Removing one way vehicular access to Brooklodge Grove from L3010 and L2997.
  • Improvements to L3010/L2997 Junction and footpaths to enhance safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
  • Provision of turning bay for vehicular traffic on Brooklodge Grove.
  • Provision of uncontrolled pedestrian crossing on L3010.
  • Other necessary associated ancillary works.

Alternatively they will be made available for inspection by appointment at Reception Desk, Cork City Council, City Hall, Cork on working days from Friday 11th of Sept 2020 to Monday 12th of October, 2020 from 9am to 4.30pm. Submissions and observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated, may be made;

  • In writing to Senior Engineer, Infrastructure Development, City Hall, Cork. It should be clearly marked “Brooklodge Grove Section 38
  • electronically https://consult.corkcity.ie

Closing date for receipt of submissions is on or before 5.00 p.m. on Tuesday 27th of October 2020.

All comments, including names and addresses of those making submissions and observations, submitted to Cork City Council in regard to this scheme, will form part of the statutorily required report to be presented at the monthly meeting of Cork City Council. Accordingly, they will be included in the minutes of that meeting and may appear in the public domain. Cork City Council will retain data for no longer than is necessary and in accordance with the Council’s Data Protection Policy and Privacy Statement (available to view on www.corkcity.ie) and relevant Data Protection legislation.
