NOTICE OF PROPOSAL TO EXTINGUISH PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY
ROADS ACT 1993
TAKE NOTICE that Cork City Council, in pursuance of Section 73 of the Roads Act 1993, proposes to make an Order extinguishing the Public Right of Way more particularly described in the schedule here to with effect from a date to be specified in the said Order. This extinguishment is being proposed to facilitate the demolition of existing houses and construction of new houses as part of the regeneration programme.
A map with marked areas which represents the Public Right of Way proposed to be closed shall be available for inspection from Friday, 31st October 2025, at the Main Reception Desk, City Hall, Cork from 09.00-17.00 Monday to Friday until Monday, 1st December 2025, and The Public Counter, North Area Housing Office, Harbour View Road Knocknaheeny, from 10.00-12.30 & 14.00-16.00, Monday to Friday excluding Wednesday. The map can also be viewed onhttps://consult.corkcity.ie.
Any objections or representations may be made in writing to the undersigned not later than 16.00 hrs on Monday, 15th December 2025 or on https://consult.corkcity.ie. Any person making such objection or representation may include a request in writing to state their case at an oral hearing conducted by a person appointed by Cork City Council for that purpose.
From the point marked AA at Fota Lawn on said map for a distance of approximately 90 Metres in a North Easterly direction to point marked BB;
from the point marked CC at Fota Lawn on said map for a distance of approximately 40 Metres in an Easterly direction to point marked DD;
from the point marked EE at Knocknaheeny Avenue on said map for a distance of approximately 40 Metres in a Southern & South Easterly direction to points marked FF & BB respectively.
