Notice Under Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994, Cork City Council hereby gives notice of its intention to carry out the following traffic management measures in the interest of the safety and convenience of road users.
John’s Street Upper
It is proposed to install a raised tabletop at the junction of John’s Street Upper and John’s Street Lower. Uncontrolled crossing points will be in stalled on this raised table on both sides of the junction of John’s Street Upper and John’s Street Lower. New road markings and signage as well as ancillary works will also be carried out in the area.
The main elements of the proposed works at this location are:
Raised table across the jucntion of John’s Street Upper and John’s Street Lower
Provison of uncontrolled pedestrian crossings
New road marking and signage
Other necessary associated works.
John’s Street Lower
It is proposed to install a raised tabletop at the junction of John’s Street Upper and John’s Street Lower. Uncontrolled crossing points will be in stalled on this raised table on both sides of the junction of John’s Street Upper and John’s Street Lower. New road markings and signage as well as ancillary works will also be carried out in the area. A shared surface will be also installed on a section of John’s Street Lower.

Spring Lane
It is proposed to install a 2m wide footpath on the southern side of Spring Lane from where the existing footpath ends at the Ballyvolane Fire Station to the junction of Spring Lane and Ballincollie Road. It is proposed to replace the existing build outs at the junction of Spring Lane and Ballincollie Road to incorporate the new path also. New road markings and signage will be installed. Ancillary works associated with the installation of the footpath will also be carried out.
The main elements of the proposed works at this location are:
Provide a 2m footpath on Southernside of Spring lane
Repalce exisitng concrete build outs
New road marking and signage
Other necessary associated works.
Cardinal Way
It is proposed Install a raised table Zebra Crossing on Cardinal Way. The Crossing is to be installed at the end of the footpath running in the green area to the front of the SMA Wilton church. The crossing will link this footpath with the footpath outside High Street House.

New road marking and signage;
Other necessary associated works.
