Magazine Road
It is proposed to install a controlled pedestrian crossing on Magazine Road at the entrance to the Public Park adjacent to Presetation Brothers Sports Ground. It is also proposed to upgrade footpaths in the area. A crossing at this location would encourage walking from residents in the area to UCC, Bons Secours hospital and Dennehy’s Cross. This crossing would also facilitate cyclists wishing to proceed through the park to the Glasheen road and beyond.
It is proposed to
Provide a controlled crossing
Upgrade sections of footpath in the area
New road marking and signage;
Other necessary associated works.
Mick Barry Road
This scheme seeks toprovide footpath facilities on the Mick Barry and Kinsale Road and would connect the Black Ash Park & Ride to the Kinsale Road. A footpath and crossing points at this location would encourage walking to and from the park & ride and would be of benefit to local business and nearby sports grounds. The crossing points and footpaths are to be incorporated into the existing signalised junction at Mick Barry Road and Kinsale Road.
It is proposed to
Construct a new footpath from the park and ride to the Kinsale Road
Upgrade sections of footpath in the area
