NOTICE OF PROPOSAL

TO EXTINGUISH PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY

ROADS ACT 1993

TAKE NOTICE that Cork City Council, in pursuance of Section 73 of the Roads Act 1993, proposes to make an Order extinguishing the Public Right of Way more particularly described in the schedule here to with effect from a date to be specified in the said Order.

A map with marked areas which represents the Public Right of Way proposed to be closed shall be available for inspection from Friday, 5th November 2021, at the Main Reception Desk, City Hall, Cork from 09.00-17.00 Monday to Friday until Monday, 6th December 2021. The map can also be viewed on this site  https://consult.corkcity.ie.

Any objections or representations may be made in writing to the undersigned not later than Monday, 20th December 2020 or on https://consult.corkcity.ie.    Any person making such objection or representation may include a request in writing to state their case at an oral hearing conducted by a person appointed by Cork City Council for that purpose.

This vehicular access will be replaced by a new access further to the east along Kilmore Road Lower between no.s 54 and 56 Kilmore Road Lower as indicated on the said map. Pedestrian access along the existing footpaths is not being extinguished. The vehicular access is being closed as a result of a road safety audit for the next phase of the regeneration (phase 1C) which showed a conflict between this junction and the junction of the new development on Kilmore Road Lower.

RIGHT OF WAY WHICH IT IS PROPOSED TO EXTINGUISH

Road access at the exit of Dunmore Gardens onto Kilmore Road Lower, adjacent the water tower, Knocknaheeny, Cork.

From the points marked AA to BB at Kilmore Road Lower / Dunmore Gardens junction on said map. This access will be replaced by a new entrance further to the east along Kilmore Road Lower between no.s 54 and 56 Kilmore Road Lower as indicated on the said map.
