Volume 3 - Built Heritage Objectives

Blarney and the Tower area are home to many many people, we all love the area no doubt but we have seen progress stagnated over this idea of a "theme park" town some members of the british aristoracy seem to want to impose on us. To this end I believe making Blarney part of the ACA is the WRONG idea.

We have a large delerict site in the village which is a complete eye sore yet carefully laid plans for it which were sensitive to the area in their design were blocked by self serving members of the community who only seek to further their own businesses by preventing this development.

By putting Blarney in the ACA this would stifle all future development of the area for the betterment of the residents and create themepark Blarney which is the wrong idea.

Perhaps a counter suggestion is to protect the immediate Square area as this is indeed a heritage area but knocking derelict buildings for contemporary development should never be blocked ever.

Stop playing into the hands of existing businesses whether tourist or retail and leaving the residents to suffer.

Main opinion:

No to Blarney ACA

Main requests:

Dont prevent development of Blarney particularly on the derelicts sites

Main reasons:

Residents need to have amentities
