Proposed Zoning Change

In August 2020 DFOD Consultants made a submission (attached) on our behalf, requesting that an area of land on map 12 be zoned for low / medium density housing, but in the draft plan its been zoned as ZO 10 Light industry and related uses. With the ever growing need for housing in this area and Strategic Housing Developments taking longer than expected, we respectifully ask that you look at this decision again. If zoned for housing (ZO 02 or similar) we believe that it would be possible to deliver housing more quickly, without the major infracture required for larger developments. If necessary, surface water and/or foul could be dealt with on-site and connected up to any upgraded infrastructure at a later date if reqired.

The land in question is adjacent to the current developement in Dublin Pike and the Strategic Housing Development in Lahardane. It is also directly across the road from the site which has just been granted permission to build 96 new houses. While we acknowledge that light industry is also required in the area, we believe that there would be sufficient room for both.
