Zoning Maps

Ábhair:

I wish to express my concerns regarding the zoning amendment.

I am a resident of [HOUSE NAME REDACTED], Lee Road for the last 34 years. I bought my house on the understanding that the Lee Road was a green belt and would not be developed for housing or industrial use.

The proposed 137 units would increase the volume of traffic by a similar number of vehicles and more. The Lee Road was never intended for heavy vehicular traffic which would certainly increase due to the lack of public transport serving the Lee Road.

Pedestrian traffic in search of public transport would be a problem especially crossing Wellington bridge with prams and buggies and would put all road users at risk.

The green belt has been an amenity for the people of Cork for decades and is also the habitat of many wild and protected species.

Using this land at Lee Road for a high density housing development would be detrimental for the area.
