As a parent of three young children I kindly request that the City Council reject Proposed Zoning Amend Ref. 2.31, Togher Road, Lehenagh More, Togher for change of use to Education, as this site is unsafe and unsustainable for the children attending any proposed education facility at this site.
The proposed education site raises significant road safety concerns and the educational use proposed should be dismissed due to the following points:
- Significant gradient on Togher Road north and south of proposed access to site with vehicles travelling at high speeds

Mixed vehicular type traffic within close proximity to school including numerous heaving goods vehicles and business traffic:
- Four HGV accesses within 140m of proposed School access on either side of Togher road including directly opposite at Business Park
- Recycling business diagonally southeast of site using skip lorries,
- Public house straight opposite proposed school site.
- Sensitive issue of commemoration stone for the young man involved in fatal road accident at proposed access to education site
- Restricted access for any emergency vehicular access
- No amount of road improvements will safely accommodate safe access for children, teachers, support staff and parents, with priority given to those walking, jogging, scooting, cycling and using public transport.
- This site is unsustainable for any Catchment Area. This site does not support sustainable and active travel and is unsafe.
