Objection to the placing of any bridge which will allow cars to connect to the Atlantic Pond side of the Marina.

6. Green and Blue Infrastructure, Open Space and Biodiversity

Hello,

This email is to object to the placing of any bridge which will allow cars to connect to the Atlantic Pond side of the Marina.

In particular, plans to allow traffic to be pulled from Lower Glanmire Road side over to the Atlantic Pond side will ruin what has become a wonderful pedestrianised area.

The Atlantic Pond and Marina Park are areas of beauty and respite from the constant and steady flow of traffic.

I object strenuously to a bridging road which will pull far to much traffic into an already car burdened area.

Our focus as citizens of this incredibly beautiful city should be on making it more pedestrian, bike, and public transport friendly. It should not be ruining areas of beauty with even more cars and more traffic.

You will decimate the Pond and Marina Park by allowing a road through that area. The whole area has become such a beautiful spot for pedestrians, for people to exercise, or just to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet of the water. All of which will be destroyed by allowing an arterial road.

Please, rethink your proposed changes and do not put a road through the few areas of nature left for us to enjoy.

Kind regards,

Daisy
