Hi,

I completely object to Amendments 1.241 & 1.247 which involve the building of a new road over the Lee and into Blackrock / Marina Park.

These plans to build new roads fly in the face of the current climate emergency we are in. They do not represent what a progressive, growing city should be aiming for - instead, City Council should work on improving the use of the current roads we have and ensuring that space is allocated on these roads to the most sustainable modes of transport - including walking, cycling and public transport. These improvements will help to shift people from private cars to sustainable modes, negating the need for any new roads.

Any roads over the Lee leading to Marina Park and into the city will have a severely negative impact on our beautiful pedestrianised Marina, Greenway, Atlantic Pond and Marina Park, not to mention the wildlife and residents in the area too.

Again, any plans for new roads which encourage further private car traffic such as the above should be removed from the Development Plan. It is a ridiculous idea that will have a very negative impact on our city going forward.

Yours,

Jennifer Connolly
