Hello,
I wish to make the following submission to the City Development Plan:
-I wholly object to any building of new roads over the river leading to docklands/over Marina Park.
The associated pollution, both in terms of air pollution and noise pollution as well as creation of excess traffic in what is a green / eco area of the city is reprehensible.
-I completely object to Amendments 1.241 & 1.247 as a result.
-This proposed road goes against the future development plans of the city as a liveable, healthy place to live and work in, and will serve to only create further problems with pollution and traffic in the city and suburbs. There is no chance we will meet our targets for significantly lowering emissions whilst dealing with the climate emergency when you are continuing to prioritise the building of new roads.
-It would be better to focus on shifting people out of cars and on to bicycles and public transport. A new road built for cars, particularly one built over the city's best green public amenity spaces, will not do this. Do NOT build this road.
Regards,
Sam McCormack
