Object to Amendments 1.241&1.247

Dear Sir\Madam,

I object to the above amendments in relation to new arterial road infrastructure in the south docklands area as it would bring the associated air and noise pollution to an area described in your documentation as a green lung.

This arterial road infrastructure will have a negative impact on the Port of Cork 2000 gardens, the river lee, the pedestrianised marina, new marina park, the monahan road green belt and kennedy park.

The south docklands area is already accessible and affords cork city the opportunity for car-lite docklands development in line with other european cities.

Arterial roads will inflict the same damage on the south docklands as seen elsewhere in the city in such places as douglas, blackpool and wilton where we see car infrastructure such as surface carparks, drive throughs and big box shopping centres.

This is not where the south docklands should be positioning itself if it truly wants to become a vibrant liveable community area in the heart of the city.

Yours sincerely,

Denis O'Regan
