Draft Electric Vehicle Charging Strategy

 

Cork City Council has prepared the Draft Cork City Electric Vehicle Charging Strategy. The Draft Strategy is accompanied by a Draft Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Environmental Report, prepared in accordance with the requirements under S.I. No. 435/2004 - European Communities (Environmental Assessment of Certain Plans and Programmes) Regulations 2004 and a Draft Appropriate Assessment Screening Report.

Overview of Strategy Contents

The Draft Strategy focuses on the delivery of publicly accessible electric vehicle charging infrastructure to allow for the targeted uptake in electric vehicles in Cork City. The strategy makes recommendations with respect to the different types of charging infrastructure required and its spatial distribution within Cork City.

Public Consultation

  • Deadline: The last day for submissions is Monday, 20th May 2024.   
  • View the Document: A copy of the Draft Strategy and associated environmental reports are available for inspection online and also at the Reception Desk, Cork City Council, City Hall, Angelsea Street, Cork T12 T997 on working days from Monday the 15th of April 2024 to Monday the 20th of May 2024 between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.

Next Steps

A written submission or observation with respect to the Draft Strategy and associated environmental reports made to Cork City Council within the period referred to above will be taken into consideration before the finalisation of the Draft Strategy.  The Strategy will then be submitted to the Elected Members for consideration, likely in June 2024.
