We welcome the inclusion of this and look forward to further dialogue with Cork city Council around the needs of children with respect to provision of equity of access to arts encounters and helping children to realise their creative potential, as well as nurturing their curiosity, to imagine a better world. The New Victory Theatre report (2018 / USA) on the impact of childhood attandance at theatre is an important reference in relation to showing the fundamental value and importance in providing access for children in Cork City to the arts in helping them to imagine a better world.
Also with reference to Blackpool as an area focussed for development (page 416 of Written Statement)
As an established home for creativity for young people in this part of the city, we welcome this focus on Blackpool and would be interested in helping the Council to meet their objectives to provide cultural opportunities for chilrdren and young people.
